Happy national PB day
Personally I love peanut butter, not only does it taste super yummy but its packed with plenty of health boosting ingredients. Not only do peanuts have very high monounsaturated fat content (good for your heart), they are also a rich source of the antioxidant resveratrol (also found in grapes), and contain plenty of protein (7g per oz), vitamins B3 (niacin) and E, mangense and folate!
Phew…(and the list continues)
Just to show you all how serious my addiction to peanut butter is, here is a picture of the jar I bought the other day:

This is one whole Kilogram of pure peanut butter bliss…
Surely my purchase of this is reason enough to celebrate!
SURPRISE:
A peanut butter recipe to celebrate

Imagine the creamy yellow fruits paired with lashings of your favourite peanut butter…Drool

Baked Banana Boats (or in summer you can use a barbecue :) )
serves 1
Take 1 banana and slice it down the front, apply a little pressure to the ends to squeeze it open. Next take 1-2 tbsp of peanut butter and apply in the ‘crack’ in the banana. Then stuff the rest of the crack with lashings of your favourite chocolate (I used dark) and wrap the banana in aluminium foil. Finally place the banana wrapped in foil in a 350 degree oven (Fahrenheit) and bake for 10 mins…then enjoy <3
*you can bake for longer if you want the banana even more caramelised…
How will you be celebrating national peanut butter day?
